Dublin Fire Brigade rush to multiple apartment fires

The members of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene of a flat on fire last night.

The crew from Phibsborough and HQ rushed to the apartment in the city centre after smoke was seen rising from the building. Firefighters discovered that the rubbish chute had gone on fire.

The crew worked quickly to extinguish the flames before they spread. A DFB spokesperson said on Twitter: "Last night firefighters from Phibsborough and HQ along with a District Officer responded to reports of a flat on fire in the city centre.

"Once on scene they discovered the fire was in a rubbish chute and the fire was quickly extinguished." In other news, firefighters were also called to the scene of another apartment fire on Monday morning.

Four fire engines including a turntable ladder were used to extinguish the flames at an apartment in Blackrock. The crew used breathing apparatus to put out the fire and prevent further damage.

A spokesperson for the Dublin Fire Brigade said: "In the early hours of [Monday] morning, four fire engines including a turntable ladder were called to an apartment fire in #Blackrock. Firefighters in breathing apparatus were able to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage."
