Dublin Fire Brigade rush to fight gorse blaze near Hellfire Club

Firefighters from Rathfarnham Fire Station are currently battling a wild gorse blaze near the Hellfire Club.

The Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted a video which shows the thick vegetation burning in the Dublin mountains.

The good weather often leads to wildfires in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains as well as on Bray and Howth heads.

The DFB warned the public to stay safe as the rise in temperatures sees gorse fire season kick in.

They tweeted: "Firefighters from Rathfarnham fire station are dealing with a gorse wildfire near the Hellfire Club.

"Great weather means fine vegetation is at risk, be aware if you're out in the countryside this Bank Holiday Weekend."

 

It could be a very busy weekend for our DFB heroes as the mercury rises into the twenties.

Today is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, with the temperature set to hit a sweltering 22C, Met Eireann forecast.
