Dublin Fire Brigade respond to water rescues across the capital with one person taken to hospital

A person was taken to hospital following a water rescue in north Dublin this week.

Dublin Fire Brigade, along with paramedics from the Swords National Ambulance Service crew, were called to an incident at Malahide Estuary.

The Swords firefighters then arrived at the scene to the water rescue.

DFB said: "Swords firefighters at a water rescue in the Malahide Estuary with Swords Ambulance. One person taken to hospital. Fire stations around the city & county have rescue swimmers that can respond to incidents in canals, rivers, lakes etc."

There was also a water rescue at the canal beside the Suir Road Luas stop yesterday.

One traffic lane was blocked on the road as firefighters worked to help those involved.

The scene was quickly cleared afterward, with no reports of any major injuries.
