Dublin Fire Brigade rescuers bravely dove into the River Liffey this morning to rescue a person from the water.

The DFB's Swiftwater Rescue Technicians were first on the scene and managed to keep the person afloat.

They then deployed the shallow water rescue boat to transport the person back to dry land.

The person rescued was treated for hypothermia at the scene.

"Firefighters and paramedics rescued a person from the Liffey early this morning," the DFB said.

"Swiftwater Rescue Technicians entered the water and kept the person afloat until the arrival of our shallow water rescue boat.

"The person was treated on scene for hypothermia."
