Dublin Fire Brigade praised after rescuing a trapped fawn from a pond in Bray

Members of the Dublin Fire Brigade are being hailed on Twitter for their efforts in saving an adorable fawn that got trapped in a pond.

In a video posted to their official account, a group of rescue men is seen working together to free the young deer at the Old Conna Golf Club in Bray, Co Dublin.

According to the post, the fawn was trapped in an area with heavy growth along the banks of the pond, and it took the efforts of two Swiftwater rescue technicians to successfully free the animal unharmed.

In a post on Twitter, they wrote: “Firefighters from Dun Laoghaire Fire Station were called to an unusual rescue today in Old Conna Golf Club. A fawn had become trapped in a pond with heavy growth.

“Two Swiftwater rescue technicians were able to assist the fawn to safety.”

Comments began to flood in praising them for their work, one wrote; “Aw poor sweet little thing! I'm glad you guys were able to help it to safety.

“Thank you for all you do, helping keep not only us but others safe from harm.”

Another commented; “Thank you for your animal kindness, care and welfare.”

One other person said; “Swiftwater Rescue Technician is a badass job title. Well done the lads.”
