Dublin Fire Brigade has warned of the dangers of lighting disposable barbeques on flammable surfaces such as deckings or grass ahead of Ireland’s incoming heatwave.
Met Eireann has said that it expects temperatures to reach “the mid-20s and possibly the high 20s in some places” on Sunday and Monday.
Met Eireann has also not ruled out the possibility of a weather warning being issued while acknowledging that Ireland could see temperatures in the low 30s in some areas of Ireland on Tuesday.

With an expected influx of barbeques during the heatwave, the Fire Brigade has offered some safety advice in relation to disposable barbeques in particular while showing the damage they can do.
Providing safety advice on disposable barbeques, Dublin Fire Brigade said:
- Never use indoors, this includes tents, wood cabins and caravans
- Use only in a well-ventilated area. Poisonous Carbon Monoxide can be created when it is lit.
- Place the disposable barbecue on a level non-flammable surface
- Never place a disposable barbecue on decking, wooden or plastic garden furniture, glass or grass
- Allow the barbecue to cool before moving it
