A warning to motorists about driving in wintry conditions has been issued by Dublin Fire Brigade following a serious crash.
Firefighters and paramedics from the Tallaght station were called to a collision on the Slade Road in Saggart yesterday evening.
They had to use hydraulic equipment to extricate a person from a car which was badly damaged in the crash.
Pictures from the scene show the front end of the car completely destroyed, in a collision with a Land Rover vehicle.
One person was hospitalised as a result of the incident, and DFB have issued the important warning as road conditions become difficult due to frost and colder weather.
They said: "Firefighter/Paramedics from Tallaght extricated one person from a car using hydraulic rescue equipment following an RTC on Slade Road in Saggart earlier this evening. One to hospital.
"Drops in temperature makes driving conditions challenging, particularly on secondary roads."
