Dublin Fire Brigade hilariously congratulate record breaker Shane Long

Ireland striker Shane Long made history tonight as he scored the fastest goal in Premier League history.

The Tipperary man rattled the net for Southampton after just six seconds of their match against Watford at Vicarage Road.

And with Long scoring his third goal in four games, many people were turning to an old gag of 'Shane Long's on Fire' - including Dublin Fire Brigade.

DFB tweeted: "We're aware that Shane Long is on fire and have contacted our colleagues in Southampton fire brigade (Hants_fire ) to let them know."

Unfortunately Southampton couldn't hold out for the win, with Watford scoring a late equaliser.

But with Long on such a hot streak, here's hoping he can burn some defences when Ireland take on Denmark and Gibraltar in Euro 2020 qualifying next month.
