Dublin Fire Brigade help deliver two babies after mothers went into labour at retail park and home

Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics had a busy day after  helping deliver two at a retail park and a house yesterday.

A pregnant woman went into labour at Airside Retail Park in Swords, not far from Dublin Airport on Wednesday morning.

A paramedic team from Dublin Fire Brigade raced to the woman's aid and she gave birth in the back of their ambulance, Dublin Live reports.

Fortunately it was an uncomplicated delivery and mother and baby are said to be doing well.

Dublin Fire Brigade took to social media to share the happy news.

They said: "You may have seen one of our ambulances pulled in at Airside in Swords this morning.

"The paramedics were assisting a mother in delivering her baby in the back of the ambulance.

"An uncomplicated delivery: Mother and baby doing well. Congratulations to the newest #DFBaby."

And just hours later, DFB were on hand again when another woman unexpectedly gave birth at home.

DFB shared a picture of the new mum and her baby, who has been named Adriel, in the back of an ambulance.

They said: "#HappyBirthday to baby Adriel unexpectedly born at home today with the assistance of our Donnybrook fire crew including FF/P Wilson and FF/AP O’Connor.

"Transported to hospital by one of HQ based ambulance crews. Mum, baby and dad all doing great. Second #DFBaby born today."
