Dublin Fire Brigade extinguish violent blaze in bin store

Dublin Fire Brigade has urged residents to keep their bin areas safe from hazards after putting out a blaze in a residential bin store.

The fire was extinguished yesterday and no injuries occurred as a result of the incident. However, the Fire Brigade took to Twitter to share important advice on avoiding similar fires.

They wrote: “The cause is unknown but in general our advice is to avoid placing hot ashes in bins until they have completely cooled 24 hours later.”

Firefighters used a concrete saw to break open the door of the bin lock-up and were successful in their attempts to extinguish the blaze.

The Dublin Fire Brigade has attended several unusual incidents in recent weeks, including the bizarre explosion of an electrical bike on Sunday. The explosion was witnessed by many shoppers in the Ilac Centre. There were no known injuries as a result of the blast.
