Dublin Fire Brigade have been called to the scene of a raging gorse fire in south Dublin this evening.

The blaze is up at the Hellfire Club on Montpellier Hill, with smoke visible across parts of Dublin.

There are currently two units, one from Tallaght and one from Rathfarnham, attending the scene.

In images shared of the fire, the flames can be seen rising as smokes covers the area.

DFB said: "We're aware of the gorse wildfire at the Hellfire Club & have firefighters on scene. 2 units from Rathfarnham & Tallaght fire stations are attending."

While the Save the Hellfire campaign had great praise for the emergency services.

They said: "Looks like several small fires! This is why it's so important to keep the entrances clear 24/7 for the Emergency Services! As a result of the current weather conditions a code Orange Fire warning has been in place!"

Earlier today, Dublin Fire Brigade issued a reminder about keeping access points free to allow emergency services reach incidents.

They shared an incident of parked cars blocking the gates to Tymon Park, and hindering access to the area.
