The Finglas sector of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to a waste fire in west Dublin on Sunday afternoon.
The large collection of waste was set alight in broad daylight in Dunsink Lane, Finglas, before the firefighters were called.
Smoke was seen from the fire throughout the area.
Dublin Fire Brigade took to Twitter to warn users of the dangers of setting fire to waste, saying: "In addition to the obvious pollution these fires can also contain hazards like aerosol cans & gas cylinders"
Wooden pallets and plastic bags can be seen in the pile of rubbish ablaze in the lane.
It comes nearly a week after Couch, rubbish, rugs and half a car were found ablaze in a laneway in nearby Palmerstown .
