Dublin Fire Brigade called as person electrocuted while trying to rescue drone from wires in south Dublin park

A warning has been issued after a person was electrocuted while trying to rescue a drone from electrical wires in a south Dublin park.

Dublin Fire Brigade responded from the Dun Laoghaire station alongside the National Ambulance service in Loughlinstown.

The person suffered burns from the line, which was confirmed by ESB Networks to be 10kV.

Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Firefighter/Paramedics from Dun Laoghaire responded with @LoughlinstwnNAS to a person suffering from burns after being electrocuted trying to retrieve a drone in a South Dublin park.

"@ESBNetworks have confirmed that it was a 10kV line. NEVER EVER attempt to go near ESB cables."

They also shared an image that showed the drone trapped in the electrical wires.

Take note - never, ever attempt to go near ESB cables even when they've been downed.
