Dublin Fire Brigade battle overnight blaze at Dublin home

Dublin Fire Brigade were called to an overnight blaze at a derelict Dublin home.

It took firefighters from two stations - Finglas and Phibsborough - to battle the fire on St Margaret's Road.

Smoke from the fire was seen across the surrounding areas as the flames ravaged through the empty house.

It came at the same time as International Firefighters Day, which remembers serving, retired and deceased crew members.

Dublin Fire Brigade took to twitter to share pictures of the brave fire fighters extinguishing the flames, saying: "Overnight firefighters from Phibsborough & Finglas stations fought a derelict building fire on St Margaret's Road.

Jail bosses blasted for allowing dangerous overcrowding in Dublin prisons that 'provides the perfect atmosphere for the bully to thrive'  

"Smoke drifted across the locality before the fire was brought under control."

It is not currently known if the fire was started intentionally or by accident.
