Dublin Fire Brigade assist mum in labour with birth of baby boy

Dublin Fire Brigade were handed an emergency with a difference when they came to the rescue of a heavily pregnant mum whose waters had broken.

The Tallaght station firefighters/paramedics quickly attended and rushed mum to the hospital maternity ward. However, baby was in no mood for waiting and had to be delivered in the Tallaght fire station vehicle en route.

The skilled crew not only safely delivered a bouncing baby boy but handed mother and child safely over to the maternity hospital in Dublin.

DFBs Tallaght Fire Station tweeted at 11.07pm on Saturday: "A baby boy was in a hurry this morning and wasn't prepared to wait for Mum to get to hospital. Firefighter/paramedics from Tallaght fire station assisted Mum with the delivery in our ambulance and both are now doing well."
