Dublin Fire Brigade and security guards save shopping centre from disaster after stopping car park fire

Dublin Fire Brigade and quick-thinking security guards managed to save a shopping centre from disaster after stopping a car park fire.

Security guards from the Northside Shopping Centre in Coolock were able to stop the fire escalating by using extinguishers and prevented the blaze spreading to other nearby cars.

DFB images show the inside of the vehicle is badly burnt. with damage done to the seats.

Posting about the incident on Twitter, a Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters have extinguished a car on fire in the car park of Northside Shopping Centre.

"The centre’s security personnel managed to slow the fire growth by using extinguishers, which prevented the spread of fire to the cars parked beside"
