Dublin family 'thrilled' after vandalised Christmas tree lights fixed by Good Samaritan

A Dublin family is rejoicing after returning home to find the lights that they put on their Christmas tree were repaired after an earlier vandalism incident last week.

Jeanette Swords and her husband Shay Lennon from Knocklyon were left heartbroken last week when the lights on their Christmas tree were "pulled apart" with the cable cut in an act of vandalism.

"They were pulled apart the lights, they were on last night and okay at around 12.30/1am then someone cut the cable, we think they were turned off deliberately": Jeanette told Dublin Live.

However, a Good Samaritan has now kindly fixed up the lights much to the family's delight.

Jeanette said: "On Wednesday we were out at Dublin Castle in town and we came home to all the lights fixed. The kids are thrilled.

"Santa and his little magical elves came to pay us a visit, and we're hoping to spread more Christmas cheer."
