Dublin family abruptly woken after car smashes into front of house on Saturday morning

A Dublin family were abruptly woken up in the early hours of Saturday morning as a car collided with the front wall of a house.

The single car collision took place shortly after midnight on April 27 at Mount Bellew Way in Lucan, west Dublin.

After the car crashed into the wall, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before the arrival of the gardai.

One local said that a "young child was asleep in the room right beside where the car hit".

Pictures of the incident, which were posted on a local Facebook Page, shows the black Suzuki car ploughed into the railing and the wall of the house.

In a statement to Dublin Live, gardai said they "are investigating a single car collision which occurred at Mount Bellew Way in Lucan shortly after midnight on 27 April 2019".

They added: "The car collided with a wall, the driver left the scene before the arrival of Gardaí."
