Dublin duo John and Paddy Small doing charity cycle in honour of their late dad Declan

Dublin stars John and Paddy Small are part of a group from Ballymun Kickhams undertaking a 24-hour cycle in aid of Beaumont Hospital today.

The brothers are cycling at least three hours each in a fundraising bid that has raised over €19,000 for the hospital and has honoured their late dad, Declan Small.

The Kickhams chairman passed away in December, and was in the care of Beaumont Hospital in his battle with an illness.

After the coronavirus crisis led to the original Mallorca 312 cycle being cancelled, the group have decided to undertake the cycle-athon from home.

And in posts to Instagram, the brothers thanked people for their support.

Paddy said: "Thank you to everyone so far for your generosity and kindness in the Fundraiser in memory of our Dad.

"Link is my bio. I am already b***oxed as you can tell!!"

John added: ""Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

"Link is in my bio and my story. Swipe up. And yes, I need a haircut..."

The pair lined out for Ballymun Kickhams in the Dublin League decider just a week after Declan's passing, with John kicking the winner against Ballyboden St. Enda's.
