Dublin drugs: Gardai corner arrested man as 'large cocaine bags' seized in major Coolock sting

Gardai have arrested one man and seized €64,000 of cocaine following an intelligence-led operation in north Dublin yesterday.

The massive sting, which targeted the sale and supply of drugs in Coolock, took place at 9pm when one man was stopped and searched on Greencastle Road.

Officers found eight large concealed bags of cocaine in his possession weighing about 1kg in total.

The arrested man in his 30s, is currently being quizzed at Coolock Garda Station.

A spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Investigations are ongoing and no further information is available at this time."

She added: "Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drug Unit conducted the surveillance operation.

"The arrested man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
