Dublin driver rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following South side car crash

A Dublin driver has been left with "serious injuries" following a car crash South side.

Emergency services attended the scene of the two car traffic incident on Long Mile Road last night.

Firefighters and paramedics from Dolphins Barn fire station rushed to the accident before 1:00am along with gardai.

Traffic lights in the area were out as a result at the Walkinstown Avenue junction.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Gardai attended the scene of a two car road traffic collision on the Long Mile Road in Dublin 12 in the early hours of this morning, Monday 3, January 2022, shortly before 1:00am.

"The driver of one car was taken to St James’ Hospital for treatment of his injuries which are understood to be serious.

"Investigations are ongoing."
