Dublin dog charity seeking forever home for 'fabulous' pooch who was abandoned with untreated tumours last year

A Dublin dog charity is searching for a loving home for a "fabulous" dog who was abandoned and left tied to a gate with untreated tumours last year.

The Finglas-based charity Dogs Trust released a disturbing video that went viral in December 2020 showing CCTV footage of two heartless owners walking their Rottweiler up to the gate outside the sanctuary in the middle of the night.

They tied her leash to the metal gate and then walked off, deserting her in the cold.

The video cuts to over seven and a half hours later when an employee finally found the dog, who was then lying down beside the gate.

The dog was friendly and affectionate from the start, giving the charity worker a big welcome.

To make the situation even more disturbing, Dogs Trust then revealed that the beautiful pooch had a chronic ear infection and tumours, both of which had been left untreated.

But thankfully, from the help of the Dublin charity, the gorgeous dog received excellent medical care and is now looking for a forever home.

Named "Beau" by her Dogs Trust pals, the female Rottweiler needs "a very special home with people who are willing and financially able to care for her into her old age" due to her complicated veterinary issues.

They described Beau as an "affectionate dog who enjoys snoozing on the sofa."

There are some other criteria that those interesting in adopting the friendly pooch will need to meet.

Her adoption post says: "She would do best in an adult-only home where she is the only pet so she can enjoy all the love and attention.

"She also needs a home with a securely enclosed garden for her to enjoy. Despite her past, Beau has a lot of love to give to the right family."

If you're interested in giving Beau her forever home, then contact Dogs Trust Ireland.
