Dublin distillery reopens after lockdown - and opens stunning new cocktail garden

A Dublin whiskey distillery steeped in history has reopened its doors to the public - and it now showcases a stunning new "cocktail garden".

Roe and Co only opened their distiller and visitor experience in June 2019 and, like most places, had to shut their doors due to lockdown.

But the Irish Whiskey makers didn't leave their surroundings lying idle as they have transformed the area outside of their distillery in The Liberties, Dublin 8.

Roe and Co is now offering "exciting, uniquely tailored offerings" and the team is committed to taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of guests during the pandemic.

It has launched a cocktail workshop experience which will give groups of up to six the chance to explore the five key pillars of flavour by crafting your own cocktail.

But there's no place better to enjoy a cocktail in the sun than Roe and Co's brand new cocktail village - if you want to leave the cocktail making to the pros.

The distiller has also teamed with Niall Sabongi who will bring his food truck experience the Salty Buoy to the village every Thursday and Friday.

The tasty seafood experience includes delicious dishes such as lobster rolls, grilled prawns and hake kiev.

Nial Molloy, Experience Operations Manager at the Distillery said: “After closing our doors to the public back in March, we took the time as an opportunity to create something unique that delivered on people’s thirst for amazing experiences, right here in Ireland!

"By leaning into the areas that the distillery is most famous for – our spirit of reinvention and delicious cocktails – working with our friends like Niall Sabongi, we’re excited to welcome people to discover the distillery as the home of cocktail exploration!”

The Cocktail Village and Power House Bar will be open from 4.30pm – 10pm Thursday and Friday, with last orders at 9pm.

The Cocktail Workshop Experience can be done between 3pm and 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at a cost of €19.50 per person.

Roe and Co won't be taking walk-ins at this times so to secure a place and find out more information head to its website.
