Dublin dad's April Fool's internet joke goes Twitter viral as he sends kids 'into meltdown'

A Dublin dad's April Fool's joke that sent his kids "into meltdown" has gone viral on Twitter.

Declan Kelly pulled the ultimate stunt on his family on Thursday when he opened up a fake letter from Virgin Media.

Sent to their Dublin address with the April 1 date underneath, the children still didn't cop and lost the plot when they scrawled through the details.

The letter said: "We are writing to let you know because of ongoing works, there will be no internet access in your area for the next three months.

"It will be completely down and unfortunately you will not be able to access the internet."

The real kicker was when the letter finished by saying: "We expect it to be back working by September...but it may be October."

Sharing the spoof letter on Twitter, where the tweet has since been interacted with thousands of times, Declan said: "Kids went into meltdown when this letter arrived today. April Fool's!"
