Dublin Covid red zone areas confirmed with a number of communities miles above national average

Covid-19 cases in Ireland continue to rise, with the national 14 day incidence rate now at 526.4 cases per 100k people.

Yesterday, a further 1,866 cases of the virus were confirmed in the Republic with the number of Covid-19 patients in hospital rising to 331. There are currently 61 patients in ICU across the country.

Although Dublin is performing better than a lot of counties and has the 15th highest case average in the country, there are a number of areas in the capital with incidence rates miles ahead of the national average.

Here are the Covid-19 red-zone areas in Dublin.

Donaghmede has the highest rate of the disease in the capital, confirming 305 cases from the 10/8/21 to the 23/8/21.

The area was a 14 day incidence rate of 733.3 per 100k people.

The second worst Dublin hotspot is Artane/Whitehall, where 357 cases were found during the two week period.

There is a 14-day incidence rate of 697.9 in the area.

The region with the third highest rate of the disease in the capital is Blanchardstown/Mulhuddart.

There was 232 cases confirmed in the area with a 14 day incidence rate of 657.1.
