Dublin Covid lockdown: What time will the public find out what's happening with restrictions today?

The big day of Dublin lockdown restrictions is here with the Government set to announce the next steps.

The Cabinet sub-committee is to meet in the next while where they will discuss the recommendations from NPHET.

This is the elite group of ministers including the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar and Green leader, Eamon Ryan.

The Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe and Minister for Public Expenditure, Paschal Donohoe are also member of this high-powered clique.

If they believe the recommendations from NPHET requires the serious escalation to Level Three for Dublin, a full Cabinet meeting will be called for Friday afternoon to sign off on Dublin being locked down.

What time will the public be briefed?

It is expected that the Government will formally make an announced this evening once the Cabinet meeting is over and everything is agreed.

The announcement will be aired live on RTE and Virgin Media as well as included in the Irish Mirror's live blog.

The exact time is not clear yet but this article will be updated once notice is given so keep checking in.
