Dublin cousins to donate ponytails in aid of sick children and to raise funds for Team James and Barretstown

A pair of Dublin cousins are donating their ponytails in aid of sick children - and fundraising for a special charity at the same time.

James Casserly, 13, from Lucan has cerebral palsy and juvenile arthritis and is set to take place in the Dublin Marathon for the fourth time in aid of Barretstown.

Now, his two younger cousins Maisy and Lucy, both seven, want to help Team James with a very special donation.

They have both been growing their hair, and will donate their ponytails to help children suffering from hair loss and raise money for Barretstown.

A donation page has been set up on everydayhero, and already over €400 has been raised.

It says: "In 2019, James and his team want to raise funds for Barretstown which holds a super special place in James heart with treasured memories.

"The two girls are going to donate their long ponytails to help children suffering from hair loss for one reason or another.

"They want to help make a difference to another child's life as they have seen how happy it has made one of their friends.

"They are hoping to raise money for Barretstown while donating their hair and will be sharing updates of their journey with the help of James' eldest cousin Sophie."
