Dublin cousins donate hair in aid of children suffering from hair loss and raise €1,500 for Barretstown

A pair of Dublin cousins have donated their hair in aid of children suffering from hair loss and raised funds in aid of charity.

Maisy Casserly Harrington and Lucy Silke, both aged 7, took part in the fundraiser for Team James in aid of Barretstown.

They managed to raise €1,500 and this week had their hair cut and donated to the Rapunzel Foundation.

Their aunt and James' mam, South Dublin Mayor Vicki Casserly, said the family are "incredibly proud of the pair".

She said: "They understood the difference a wig could make to give extra confidence to others when facing the outside world.

"The whole family and Jimbo are incredibly proud of what they have done and what they have achieved. They are making a significant difference to many many children."

Their cousin James Casserly, 13, from Lucan has cerebral palsy and juvenile arthritis and is set to take place in the Dublin Marathon for the fourth time in aid of Barretstown with his aunt Ali.
