Dublin councillor slams 'mindless vandalism' after Go-Ahead bus has window smashed by rocks in Ballinteer

A Dublin councillor has slammed the "mindless vandalism" caused to a public transport bus used by frontline staff.

The 75 bus, which is operated by Go-Ahead Ireland, and travels between The Square Tallaght and Dun Laoghaire, came under attack in Ballinteer recently.

A window was smashed after the bus had rocks thrown at it by heartless vandals while between The Coach House Pub and Supervalu Ballinteer over the weekend.

Independent councillor Sean McLoughlin has slammed the thoughtless act and is liaising with gardai.

He said: "Public transport, such as our public bus service, is an essential service to frontline staff, such as hospital and health care staff, as well as getting citizens to the shops, post office, pharmacy etc.

"I am laising with An Garda Siochana in Dundrum who will patrol that particular area going forward.

"This mindless act of vandalism by a small few, will have a significant impact on our frontline staff through these already challenging times, and must stop immediately."
