Dublin street football may have found it's new biggest force - An Garda Siochana FC.
Three gardai in Rialto stepped up to the challenge of an impromptu football game with local kids.
And the law-enforcing team more than held their own in a victory over their rivals, before laying down the gauntlet for anyone willing to step up.
"Gardai from Kilmainham while out on the beat took on a few locals from Rialto in a 3-a-side game of football, coming out 3-2 winners!
"Congratulations to Garda Brennan, Garda White and Garda O’Connor. #GardaMassive #WhosNext"
A number of local residents took to the comments on an action photo of the friendly fixture, posted on the Garda Facebook page, to commend Gardas Brennan, White, and O'Connor for their community interaction.
"Now this is the sort of policing we need in order to claw back some of the respect that has been lost over the years," said one.
"Great to see them getting involved with locals," read another.
"Kids will have more respect for them. Well done lads. Keep up the good work."
Others called it a valuable experience for the kids to get to know the men behind the badge, while one reminisced about their own similar experience with a certain former Dublin football manager.
"If they done a bit more of that rather than treating every kid like a scumbag maybe some would have a little bit of respect for them," one commenter noted.
"Pillar Caffrey used to do that with us years ago in Sheriff Street, shows kids another side to the uniform," read another comment.
