Dublin City Council share handy tip to help cyclists cut down on wait time at red lights

Dublin City Council have shared a handy tip for cyclists to help them get around the capital a little bit faster.

Cyclists may find themselves needlessly waiting at red lights even though there is no traffic on the roads.

But there is a clever hack that prompts traffic lights to activate sooner.

The council shared the above picture with details of how to trigger the lights.

It read: "With fewer cars on the road, some cyclists are left waiting for lights to go green.

"Traffic lights are triggered by the presence of metal on the detector loop.

"At a junction position your bicycle as per arrow below to request the green signal."

A useful bit of time saving information that should help the likes of food deliveries get there a little faster.
