Dublin chef in bits laughing after customer's ludicrous complaint about wings

A chef's story about a customer she had in a hotel had the capital in stitches after she revealed the the odd reason a dish was sent back.

On Monday morning 98FM's Dublin Talks asked workers to come forward with their strangest and most unreasonable interactions with customers - and some of the responses were mind boggling.

One man told how a woman argued with him over a pint of milk costing 4c more than the supermarket down the road; while another waitress had a headache off a Mum whose child couldn't use the toilet - because they were scared of hand dryers.

However, one particular story from a chef called Emma took the biscuit, after she revealed that a diner in a Dublin hotel kept sending some chicken wings back to her.

She said: "We had a bar food kitchen and someone ordered buffalo wings.

"That was fine, sent out the buffalo wings. Then the waiter came back a few minutes later with the wings in his hand and says 'the customer's not happy, she said she asked for buffalo wings'."

Emma said the young waiter was new and sent him back out insisting that buffalo wings were indeed what was on the plate - but it wasn't over yet.

She continued: "So he came back in a few minutes later laughing, and I was like 'don't come near me with the wings'."

"He goes 'no she said she ordered buffalo wings, she said she doesn't like chicken wings."

"I was like WHAT? So apparently she said 'I don't like chicken, I'd like buffalo wings, I want the wings off a buffalo'."

Host Jeremy Dixon breaks into laughter along with Emma as they point out the glaringly obvious issue.
