Dublin cat rescue centre closed 'until further notice' due to Covid

The Phibsboro Cat Rescue has announced the closure of its flagship centre due to the pandemic.

The Purr in Stoneybatter has closed its doors to the public "until further notice".

A spokesperson for the centre said it was "just too hard to remain open during the current Covid situation".

But they reassured people that the Phisboro Cat Rescue is not closing.

The spokesperson said on Facebook: "There's no easy way to say this and we're heartbroken: The Purr is now closed until further notice. It's just too hard to remain open during the current Covid situation.

"Phibsboro Cat Rescue is not closing and we guess the silver lining is that The Purr's temporary closure should enable us to catch our breath so we can refocus on our core work of rescuing and rehoming kitty cats in need.

"We also need to find a way to fundraise so we can pay our vet bills and cover our running costs during these challenging times. Please keep the faith with us."
