Dublin Camogie hit with 3 positive COVID-19 cases

Dublin's senior camogie side has been hit with three positive Covid-19 cases a month out from the start of the All-Ireland Championship.

Inter-county camogie resumes on the weekend of October 17/18, with the Sky Blues drawn in a Championship group alongside Clare and Tipperary.

But with coronavirus cases surging in the capital, Dublin have had their All-Ireland preparations curtailed.

A Dublin Camogie statement released tonight read: "Dublin Camogie Board can confirm that 3 players on the Dublin Camogie Senior Panel have tested positive for COVID-19.

"Dublin Camogie Board have been in contact with the Public Health authorities throughout this time to manage this situation and to ensure the health and safety of everyone associated with the team.

"Dublin Camogie will not be making any more statements on this for the privacy of our players."

Sport in the capital has been hugely affected by the Government's announcement of level 3 restrictions set to come into effect at midnight.

Dublin Championship hurling finals are to be played this weekend but all juvenile matches are off for at least the next three weeks.

Sunday's Dublin SHC final between holders Cuala and Ballyboden St Enda's is set to go ahead without spectators at Parnell Park.
