Dublin businesses advertise jobs for Ukrainians as one offers to pay for airfare

A slew of Dublin businesses have advertised jobs for Ukrainians amid the Russian invasion of the country.

One business, Cloud Picker Coffee Roasters, has even offered to purchase two plane tickets from anywhere in Poland to Dublin.

Advertising the roles on social media, they wrote: "We will pay for 2 plane tickets from anywhere in Poland to Dublin, employ you in our cafe or roastery and do everything we can to help with all the arrangements."

Meanwhile, other hospitality businesses in the city made similar moves with Gourmet Food Parlour announcing that they are hiring for positions in all of their venues across the city, and invite applications from anyone arriving into Ireland from Ukraine.

Gourmet Food Parlour has restaurants in Dun Laoghhaire, Swords, Santry, Malahide and Skerries.

"We'll also help anyone looking to find accommodation and assist in any other way we can," they said.

Dublin Ink has also advertised for positions and invite Ukrainian tattoo artists to apply.

They wrote on social media: "We've got temporary space for one or two Ukrainian tattoo artists who may need a place to work until this bullshit is over."

Meanwhile, a number of Dublin businesses have been accepting donations for the people of Ukraine.

All 13 The Art of Coffee locations across Dublin are drop off points.

Other businesses accepting donations include April and the Bear on Rathmines Road, Happy Days in Leopardstown/Sandyford, Donnybrook Bikes and Polish Book Shop in Moore Street Mall.

Yesterday, The Irish Red Cross asked Dubliners to donate cash instead of goods to Ukraine as it is "very difficult to get these goods into a country in crisis and to distribute them to the right people."

"Experience from other crises shows that many of these items will end of up in landfill and will not help the people you wish to support," they said.

Anyone wishing to donate can do so here.
