Dublin BusConnects new routes breakdown by map, area and number

The final plans for the Dublin bus network have been revealed, and it's set to transform every single route in the capital.

There's big changes coming from Swords to Dun Laoghaire, Ringsend to Lucan and everywhere in between and surrounding.

While it's going to cause some confusion at the start, the NTA is planning to introduce it in a phased basis from 2021 so that passengers and drivers can get used to their new routes.

It's intended that this new system will make journeys shorter, increase frequency and lead to higher capacity across the network.

Here's what you need to know - routes and map breakdowns by area:

Routes

Bus routes will see a change in number based on whether they are spines (A-H), orbital (O,S,N,W), other city bound routes (1-99), local routes (L), peak-only routes (P) and express routes (X).

The spines will radiate through the city centre, while the orbital routes avoid the city centre and the other routes fill in the areas in between.

Details on all the routes can be seen in the gallery below.

A breakdown map of routes by area has also been released by the NTA. It shows the routes, by colour and whether they're spines (A-H), orbital (O,S,N,W), other city bound routes (1-99), local routes (L), peak-only routes (P) and express routes (X).
