Dublin Bus to host pop up performance of The Commitments

Dublin Bus is the official partner of this year's Culture Night, which is happening on Friday September 17 in the capital.

The bus network will host a number of pop-up performances of The Commitments on the upper deck of one of the city's famous DoDublin buses.

The performances will be brought by Verdant Productions and will "feature music from the iconic Dublin film and other soul classics by original members of the West End cast".

Dublin Bus will also be providing free Culture Night buses every 20 minutes along three tailored bus routes.

Dublin Bus said: "Culture Night Dublin returns this Friday, 17 September with 300 free in-person and online events taking place at 240 venues across the city and county.

"Museums, galleries and cultural heritage sites will open their doors and welcome visitors from 4pm until late.

"Starting at College Green, Aston Quay and Bachelor’s Walk, the free shuttle services will bring visitors to and from their favourite cultural quarters."

The three new free tailored bus routes will be in operation on the night.

Bus Routes 1 and 3 will be in operation from 6pm–10.40pm.

They will depart every 20 mins, with the last bus leaving 10.40pm to be at outermost venue for pick up at 11pm.

Bus Route 2 will be in operation from 6pm–11pm.

The route will also depart every 20 minutes, the last bus will leave at 11pm to be at outermost venue for pick up at 11.20pm.
