Dublin Bus suspends popular service after thugs throw rock through window

Thugs forced Dublin Bus to suspend a popular service on Sunday night after they threw a rock through the window.

The company advised customers that route 27 would not serve Jobstown for the rest of the night following the incident.

Instead, the bus was forced to operate to and from Killinarden via N81.

In a statement, Dublin Bus said: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."

They added: "Customers can also get updates on Facebook, follow us on Twitter @dublinbusnews or call our customer service line on (01) 8734222, lines open from 08:30 - 18:00hrs  (Monday to Saturday excluding bank holidays).

A witness told Dublin Live: "People were throwing stones at the bus earlier in the day and Dublin Bus had to divert the route for one hour.

"Then, around 9pm they started throwing stones at the windows again and broke one of them."

"It's only a matter of time before someone is badly hurt."
