Dublin Bus hiring full-time workers offering 'attractive' salary of up to €55,000

Dublin Bus has announced that is it looking to recruit mechanics for its team in the capital city.

The public transport company is offering lucky candidates a 12-month fixed-term contract with a chance of a permanent contract following this.

An “attractive” salary is being offered which ranges from €46,478.17 to €55,263.62 with a 20% shift bonus on offer too.

The job responsibilities include repairing vehicles, performing preventative maintenance, vehicle fault diagnosis and more, with mechanics being required to work day/night or rotating shifts depending on staffing requirements. They will also be required to drive all Dublin Bus vehicles.

An attractive salary isn’t the only sweetener offered by the bus company to get some recruits, Dublin Bus is also offering successful applicants access to the medical (GP) scheme, pension scheme, subsidised travel, career development and more.

Eligibility

However, not everyone is eligible to apply, with the bus company looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic that was awarded by SOLAS/Department of Education following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship or an Advanced Certificate in Craft awarded by FETAC following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship.
  • A driving licence is also required, with candidates needing a valid and clean Category B Irish Driving Licence - held for a minimum of two years, with no endorsements, or a valid and clean full Category D Irish driving licence, with no endorsements
