Dublin Bus forced to divert routes for FOURTH time in a week due to anti-social behaviour

Dublin Bus has been forced to divert yet another of its popular routes because of a bout of anti-social behaviour.

The company announced on Tuesday evening that route 27 would not serve Jobstown for one hour because of trouble.

The bus operated to and from Molly Heffernan's during rush hour with normal service resuming at 6:10pm.

This is now the fourth time in the space of seven days that Dublin Bus have been forced to divert routes due to anti-social behaviour.

On Halloween night, Dublin Bus diverted the same route for the same reason.

That night, it did not serve Brookfield in Tallaght for almost two hours and the busy service - which runs every 10 minutes at peak times - was partially diverted during this time.

On Sunday, the company were forced to make changes to their route 40 for one hour with normal services resuming at 4:15pm.

The route did not serve St Helena's Road and Cardiffsbridge Road in Finglas with operations in place via Finglas Road and Mellowes Road in both directions.

The recent spate of diversions started on October 30 when the same route was suspended from the Fonthill Road and Neilstown from 9:15pm to the last bus.

In a statement, the company said: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."

They added: "Customers can also get updates on Facebook, follow us on Twitter @dublinbusnews  or call our customer service line on (01) 8734222, lines open from 08:30 - 18:00hrs  (Monday to Saturday excluding bank holidays)."
