Dublin Bus forced to divert northside 27 route due to anti-social behaviour

Dublin Bus have been forced to suspend one of its busiest routes due to anti-social behaviour.

Route 27 will not serve Jobstown for the rest of tonight.

Instead, it will now operate to and from Molly Heffernan's roundabout and Dublin Bus have apologised for any inconvenience it causes to its customers.

They said: "We wish to advise customers that due to anti-social behaviour route 27 will not serve Jobstown for the rest of tonight.

"Bus will operate to and from Molly Heffernan's roundabout.

"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"Customers can also get updates on Facebook, follow us on Twitter @dublinbusnews or call our customer service line on (01) 8734222.

"Lines open from 07:00 - 19:00hrs Monday to Friday and 08:00 – 18:00hrs Saturday, Sunday and public holidays."

Last December, steps were taken to tackle anti-social behaviour on the number 27 Dublin Bus route.

The National Bus and Rail Union held an emergency meeting with Dublin Bus management

Union rep Sean Yeates says they want to protect drivers and the public:

"We met yesterday and we've put together a draft document which basically gives a little bit of protection to the drivers.

"It also maintains that the service will be kept in some way shape or form through the antisocial behaviour carry on the way it has been carrying on out in Coolock in the last couple of weeks."
