Dublin Bus fight footage shows woman attacked as punches hammered down in scary brawl

Screams echoed around a Dublin area last night as a scary fight broke out between several women on a Dublin Bus.

The shocking incident, which took place on a 27 bus understood to have been parked on the Priorwood Road in Coolock, broke out when a woman who was standing on the bus was approached and a punch thrown.

It is understood to have happened over a previous row that some of the women were involved in.

As the footage continues, two females can be seen hammering punches down on the woman who has her hands over her head in an attempt to protect herself.

Another girl can be heard saying "lads, get in and stop it!" as a fourth woman gets involved in the fight.

The woman being attacked can be seen covering her face with her hair pulled as shouts of "right, enough now, leave her!" are directed toward the bus.

She eventually manages to walk to the front of the bus, where the footage ends.

A Dublin Bus spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "I can confirm that an incident took place onboard Route 27 yesterday evening at approximately 21:45. An Garda Síochána were contacted and attended the scene.

"All Dublin Bus employees are fully trained on the comprehensive procedures for dealing with incidents such as this. Each vehicle is equipped with a radio which allows immediate contact to our Central Control Centre. This means that the driver has immediate contact to a team of Dublin Bus Inspectors should assistance be required in any given situation. During this incident, the driver followed this procedure."

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí responded to reports of a public order incident which took place on a bus on Priorwood Road, Coolock yesterday evening, 26th November 2020 at approximately 9.45pm.

"Investigations are ongoing and no further information is available at this time."
