Dublin Bus driver praised for small 'but very sound' gesture for elderly passenger

A Dublin Bus driver has been praised for a small but lovely gesture with an elderly man over the weekend.

The man, who was visually impaired, attempted to get on the 46A and asked if it would bring him to Heuston Station.

This bus doesn't head that way but instead of simply saying no, the driver went the extra mile to make sure the man got where he needed to be.

A post on Reddit says: "On a 46A just past the Dublin bus garage this afternoon. Saw an elderly visually impaired gent ask about getting to Heuston. Driver told him he was on the wrong bus and his best bet was to get off there and wait for the 145.

"The gentleman got off. Then a minute later we heard the driver get on the radio to HQ to make sure that the next 145 going past would stop for him, gave a brief description and let them know he was visually impaired. Small gesture but very sound."

Well done to this bus driver - do you know any other similar stories? Let us know in the comments.
