Dublin boy, 9, raises funds to help deliver Easter eggs to homeless and hospital staff during lockdown

Easter eggs were delivered to the homeless and brave frontline workers facing down the coronavirus outbreak thanks to the amazing efforts of a caring young Dublin boy.

Clondalkin lad Daniel McGowan's tireless fundraing efforts ensured that he could deliver the chocolate treats to healthcare workers and the emergency services.

The caring nine-year-old also made sure there were enough eggs to donate to staff at a local hospice, Dublin Live reports.

Local gardai helped Daniel to deliver the goodies and heaped praise on the generous youngster.

They said: "Daniel went to great lengths to make sure there were enough eggs to go around which there was.

"This fundraising for good causes is both impressive and humbling as he undertakes this with grace and determination to assist as many people in society as he can with this simple yet profound gesture for a nine-year-old.

"We assisted in the delivery of this precious cargo while maintaining social distancing.

"We commend you Daniel on your great work and a very happy Easter to you and your family."
