Dublin blogger Grace Mongey praised for sharing honest confession about struggling with anxiety

Grace Mongey has won praise for her honest confession about struggling with anxiety.

The blogger, known as Faces By Grace, is mum to two-year-old daughter Sienna and baby son Hayden who she welcomed over the summer.

Grace has been vocal about her anxiety recently but today decided to share openly with her thousands of Instagram followers about her difficult journey with the condition.

Sharing a photo of herself and Sienna, Grace wrote: "I've been very vocal about my anxiety in the last couple of days and today in particular has been very difficult. Sienna saw me crying, turned to me and told me not to cry.

"She picked up her teddy and put it on my chest and lay down with me for a cuddle. It instantly made me feel safe and loved.

"Anxiety works in mysterious ways, I can go from feeling so high to so low in a matter of minutes. My whole body feels it. My senses are heightened, I can taste and smell everything one hundred times more intensely and I begin to believe the negative voice in my head and then panic sets in!

"At that point there’s no going back, I have a panic attack and think the world is ending (very dramatic I know, but it’s the truth) and then a few minutes later I feel better.

"It only lasts 20 mins or so but for those 20 minutes I feel like I’ll never be me again. The only reason I share my struggles is to help others that might be going through something similar. Yes, I get up and get on with my day and I do what needs to be done but I am struggling!

"If you think someone close to you is down or feeling low just ask them 'are you ok?' We all need to mind each other. Never be afraid to reach out to the people you love."

Fans praised Grace for speaking so candidly about her struggles, acknowledging it mustn't have been easy for her to do.

One follower wrote: "I feel you girl, just know you’re not alone."

"Fair play to u for making it public how u are feeling. It's very hard to say u are not ok but letting people know is always best as they can help u through when u are struggling. Thank you for sharing ur story," a second wrote.

While a third added: "Well done for being so open and honest! Your helping so many others and hopefully yourself too. We all need to be more truthful in life!!! Its called reality."
