Dublin areas with highest and lowest rates of Covid-19 as incidence explodes across capital

The latest 14-day incidence rates for Covid-19 has shown a massive spike in the prevalence of the disease across Dublin.

The recent surge in cases across Dublin is now starting to show in the 14-day incidence rates across the capital.

11 areas across the capital have a higher incidence rate than the national average. In the most recent 14-day numbers, the national average stood at 394.2.

That has skyrocketed to 587.1 as of October 25.

There's also a new LEA that is seeing the most incidence of Covid-19, compared to this time last week.

Ongar, which had an incidence rate of 533 on October 20, has seen it soar to 884.6. The west Dublin suburb has knocked Blanchardstown/Mulhuddart into second place.

That area's rate has only slightly increased from 719.4 to 767.6. Ballyfermot/Drimnagh has also seen the incidence of Covid-19 surge with the rate now standing at 757.6. It was 516.6 just a week ago.

The incidence of Covid-19 in Ballymun/Finglas has risen by more than 100 to 72.3, up from 599.9.

Another big mover is Firhouse/Boharnabreena, who's incidence rate shot up from 403.5 to 511.5.

The most recent case numbers showed another 2,605 cases of Covid-19 reported by the Department of Health.

As of 8 am this morning, there has been 39 admissions to hospital and 46 discharges.

For the ICU, 11 people have been admitted and 9 discharged.
