Dublin areas with highest and lowest COVID rates right now in hotspot redzones update

Dublin is currently WINNING the ongoing battle against Covid-19 after new figures were released by health chiefs.

The 14-day incidence of the virus in the capital right now stands at 253.5 per 100,000 compared to the 257.7 per 100,000 figures from just one week ago.

One of the key measures used by health officials to identify so called 'red zones' is the incidence rate.

The stats outline the rate of new infections by each Local Electoral Area (LEA) from October 6 until October 19.

This is the confirmed cases per 100,000 population over the last two weeks.

And going by this, Ballymun-Finglas has nearly 500 cases per 100,000 population making it Dublin's highest redzone spot.

While at the other end of the scale, Glencullen-Sandyford has only 90 cases making it the best area in Dublin.

Here is the hardest-hit Local Electoral Areas in Dublin by LEA rate per 100k population:

1. Ballymun-Finglas - 494.5

2. Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart - 402.2

3. Clondalkin - 384.8

4. Lucan - 380

5. Artane-Whitehall - 379.2

6. Ballyfermot-Drimnagh - 334.3

7. Palmerstown-Fonthill - 331.3

8. Ongar - 307

9. Castleknock - 299.2

10. Swords - 297.8

Glencullen-Sandyford - 90.1

Killiney-Shankill - 107.7

Dún Laoghaire - 110.5
