Dublin Airport has been revelling in the return of passengers through its terminals since hefty Covid restrictions on travel were lifted.
While 39 airlines are currently in service from the capital’s airport, there are still many routes that have yet to be reinstated for a whole host of Covid-related reasons.
This week marks the return of a number of flights to the schedule that will be welcomed by many, and it’s understood even more will return as the months go on.
On September 5, Loganair launched their new Dublin to Aberdeen route with four flights a week, followed the next day by the resumption of British Airways’ Dublin to London City route which will be available 10 times a week.
Then, on September 17, Aer Lingus will begin flying from Dublin to Toronto with four flights per week for the first time since Canadian borders closed to tourists amid the pandemic.
Among the other routes that are seeing a return in September is:
- Norwegian Airlines, Dublin to Copenhagen flights twice a week
- Sun Express flights from Dublin to Izmir once a week
- Transavia flights from Dublin to Paris twice weekly
- Eurowings flights from Dublin to Dusseldorf three times a week
In total, there will be 305 flights a week to Britain from Dublin this month, 831 to all serviced European destinations every seven days, and 62 weekly trips to the USA.
Further resumptions are due in October and will be confirmed at a later date, however, a Dublin Airport spokesperson confirmed to the Irish Mirror that their Emirates flights will be increasing from five per week to daily at the beginning of October to bring passengers to the likes of Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi.
If you’re looking to head further afield in September, flights to the UAE and Qatar will be available, while Ryanair will be adding Morocco's Marrakesh to their schedule this month.
