Dublin Airport travel update: Passenger numbers grow in August but still not recovered to pre-Covid levels

Recently revealed passenger numbers from Dublin Airport show that over 1.2 million passengers flew through Dublin Airport in the month of August.

This is a drop of 63% when comparing to the same time pre-Covid 19. However, it's almost double the number of flyers that went through Dublin Airport in July.

Travelling to continental Europe suffered a 54% drop with 865,000 flyers making the journey to the continent.

Air travel to our nearest neighbour, the UK, was down a whopping 72% when compared to pre-Covid levels as 257,000 passengers made the journey to and from Britain.

There was also significant drops in the number of passengers flying from Dublin Airport to North America. A total of 111,000 passengers flew to North America, a drop of 77%.

A market with major growth in passenger numbers in recent times, the middle east, has seen flyer numbers drop by 82% to 21,000 during the month of August.

For domestic flights, there was a 65% drop in passenger numbers with just 4,300 using these routes.
