Dublin Airport swarmed as sports star flies to stag while place 'packed' with fans

It's another busy, busy morning for everyone at Dublin Airport on Saturday and sport has taken over.

One set of loyal fans are jetting off to the UK for the second weekend of Premier League while one famous sports star is heading to his brother's stag.

Snooker legend Shaun Murphy paid compliment to Dublin Airport staff saying it was tremendous to see the airport back to normal after 18 months of uncertainty.

He took to Twitter to say: "Great to see people back at Dublin Airport and off on their travels again after the last 18 months or so."

The player nicknamed 'The Magician' joked: "Good thing I left the house early otherwise I might’ve missed my flight. Wherever you’re off to this weekend, stay safe."

Meanwhile Dublin Airport was also "packed with Leeds fans" as they face Everton this weekend hoping to recover from the 5-1 loss to Manchester United in the opening day of the season last week.

The early Elland Road faithful were on the road first thing in order to get over in time for the 3pm kick-off with one fan saying that the club had "one hell of a fan base".

In March 2019, a Leeds United fan treated early morning fliers to a version of his club's famous anthem 'Marching on Together'.

The flight, which normally takes around one hour, was delayed by 53 minutes but when passengers eventually boarded the plane at 9am, they were treated to an almighty concert.

One comment simply said "brilliant" while another admitted that this "outstanding entertainment" is something they'd love on every delayed flight.
